Mangalore, April 4: The Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited (KIOCL) under its corporate social responsibility donated a 10 KVA generator set, solar water-heater, drinking water facility and medical equipment worth Rs 3.71 Lakh to Government Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases Hospital at Vamanjoor.
KIOCL Chairman and managing director K Ranganath dedicated the facilities in the presence of hospital superintendent Dr Vijaya, director K Subba Rao and senior officials from KIOCL recently.
At another programme organized at Bharathi College Nanthoor, Ranganath inaugurated a classroom constructed by the KIOCL under its corporate social responsibility. Besides Ranganath , KIOCL director K Subba Rao, Bharathi College principal Prof G N Bhat and others were present.
Ranganath, while addressing the gathering , considered donating food and money for education as worthwhile, and that between the two, it is education which gives a long standing result.
Under its corporate social responsibility, the company had contributed for development by way of donating infrastructure to educational institutions, medical treatment to BPL families, drinking water facilities for the general public, shelter, roads and other contributions.
