Mangalore, April 6: A group from Tanzania has arrived in Mangalore to perform at the ongoing Jumbo Circus in Mangalore.

Addressing mediapersons at Press Club in Mangalore on Friday, Srihari Nair, Media Coordinator of Jumbo Circus said that performances from a team comprising of eight artists from Tanzania will be a special attraction at the circus.

“There is a big fan following for African artists as they possess great speed and dynamism. This troupe is the only troupe that performs double pole acrobatics”, Mr. Nair said.

He also said that Jumbo Circus had been braving all odds and has been successful in entertaining people in spite of other modes of entertainment being at public's disposal in plenty. “To see live an elephant performing is something you don't get to see elsewhere. To see a bird which you don't find in the zoo is actually part of education for children too”, Mr. Nair said.

The Karnataka government has announced that Nandini milk will become ₹4 costlier per litre starting April 1, 2025. This is the second price hike this year.

The decision was made during a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Karnataka Cooperation Minister K N Rajanna and Animal Husbandry Minister K Venkatesh said the increase is meant to support dairy farmers by covering the rising costs of producing and processing milk.

Officials also said that:

>> The extra money from the price hike will go directly to the milk producers.

>> The earlier ₹2 price hike (announced on June 26, 2024) will be withdrawn.

>> The new price hike of ₹4 will apply to both 500 ml and 1-litre packets.
