Mangalore, Feb 14: The Prestige International School, founded by H R Educational Foundation in the year 2006 as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, will lay the foundation for its new campus at Jeppinamogaru on Saturday.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Thursday, chairman of the school Hyder Ali said that the new campus would be one of the best equipped schools in the region.
The foundation laying ceremony will be held at 8.30 a.m. and Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes will lay the foundation stone. Union Minister for Minority Affairs K Rahman Khan will launch the logo of the school, while former Union Minister C M Ibrahim will inaugurate the school's annual sports meet. Deputy Speaker of Karnataka Assembly N Yogish Bhat will preside over the function. Dignitaries such as MCC Mayor Gulzar Banu, Mangalore MLA U T Khader, Vice Chancellor of Yenepoya University Y Abdulla Kunhi, Mangalore North MLA Krishna J Palemar, Moodbidri MLA K Abhayachandra Jain and Bantwal MLA B Ramanath Rai among others will be the guests of honour, he said.
Spread over four and a half acres, the campus will have a large pre-primary block with 35 rooms, a large primary and secondary school block with a well-equipped library, Maths lab, Science lab, and an Arts lab along with an indoor stadium and a large auditorium. The school will also have two swimming pools and an outdoor sports stadium with separate grounds for cricket, volleyball and football, he said.
