Mangalore, Mar 25: Pre-paid auto rickshaw service resumed at Mangalore Central Railway Station on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Jayaprakash Shetty, President, Auto Rickshaw unit, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, DK, said that the association has taken up the mantle to supervise pre-paid auto services at the Station in collaboration with the RTO and Police.
Barring the increase in minimum charges of Rs.20 which applies to all autos in the city after the district administration's decision on the same recently, no additional increase in charges has been made, Mr. Shetty said.
Two people will man duties at the pre-paid auto counter which will be open from 7 am to 8:30 pm, Mr. Shetty said.
The pre-paid auto counter at Mangalore Central Railway station was closed down two and a half months ago. The other two pre-paid auto centres in the city are at Kankanady junction and KSRTC bus stand.
