Mangaluru, Dec 2: Sandalwood actor Vinod Alva, who had been arrested by police in Puttur in connection with an attempt to murder case, has finally secured a bail.
The Additional District and Sessions Court, Puttur, on Tuesday allowed a petition filed by the actor seeking his enlargement on bail. However, the conditions set by the court were not known yet.
A government advocate said that the bail order has to be presented before the jurisdictional magistrate’s court which would ensure that the accused adheres to the conditions stipulated in the order before enlarging him on bail.
Vinod Alva was arrested by the Puttur Town Police on November 17 on the charge of plotting and making an attempt to murder Sachchidananda Patali, who was earlier handling his property-related matters.
Mr. Patali, a resident of Eshwaramangala in Puttur taluk, filed a complaint accusing Vinod Alva of hatching a conspiracy to get him eliminated.
On November 15, Vinod Alva’s aide Udaya Chikkithaya, driving a vehicle, hit Mr. Patali, who was riding a two-wheeler in Eshwaramangala, the complainant said, alleging that the incident was abetted by Vinod Alva.
Mr. Patali had said that he had been handling matters related to Vinod Alva for the last few years at Eshwaramangala.
