Mangaluru, Apr 13: A weekend trip ended in tragedy as a 27-year-old software engineer from Dakshina Kannada lost her life in a road accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district.

The victim, Kshipra (27), hailed from Kandadka in Sullia and was the daughter of Shashikala Bhat. She was working in Bengaluru and had travelled to Andhra Pradesh along with her colleagues for a short getaway.

According to preliminary reports, the mishap occurred on Saturday night when the driver of their car allegedly dozed off at the wheel, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and crash into a tree. Kshipra suffered critical injuries in the impact and succumbed, while three others in the vehicle sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment.

Kshipra was the only child of her mother, Shashikala. She had completed her diploma from KVG College, Sullia, and later earned her MTech degree from Nitte. She was employed as a software engineer in Bengaluru, where she lived with her mother.

Her untimely death has left family, friends, and colleagues in deep shock and grief.
