Relevant authorities in Abu Dhabi are responding to fire incidents in the Khalifa Economic Zones (KEZAD) caused by debris from a ballistic missile successfully intercepted by air defence systems.
A third fire has been reported in the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) following the debris incident. One additional person of Pakistani nationality was injured, bringing the total number of casualties to six, with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
All three fires have now been controlled, and cooling operations are ongoing. Authorities have urged the public to rely solely on official updates and avoid sharing unverified information.
Earlier, five individuals of Indian nationality sustained minor to moderate injuries from the incident.
Two fires were reported near KEZAD, the largest trade, logistics, and industrial zone in the emirate, the Abu Dhabi Media Office confirmed. Emergency teams and specialised equipment have been deployed to contain the fires, and further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
The public is urged to follow only official sources for information and to avoid spreading rumours or unverified reports.
UAE authorities issued multiple safety alerts early Thursday after air defence systems intercepted missiles and drones launched from Iran. The first alert came at 3:26am, followed by a second at 4:05am and a third at 6:24am, urging residents to stay in safe locations and follow official guidance.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the sounds reported across the UAE were from air defences intercepting ballistic missiles, while fighter jets engaged cruise missiles and drones.
Residents were warned not to approach or handle debris and to report any related incidents to emergency authorities. Officials said the situation is being closely monitored, with further updates expected.
