Mangaluru: Despite disruptions caused by the ongoing West Asia crisis, New Mangalore Port is witnessing a steady inflow of crude oil, LPG, and other petroleum product carriers this week.
A Russian tanker, Aqua Titan, chartered by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), completed crude discharge operations on Sunday. Originally en route from Primorsk to Rizhao, the vessel altered its course mid-journey in Southeast Asia to dock at New Mangalore Port, unloading 96,099.8 tonnes of crude oil at MRPL’s Single Mooring Point.
According to sources at the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA), several more consignments are scheduled in the coming days. The tanker Oasis is expected to deliver 99,900 tonnes of crude on Monday. On Tuesday, Bourbon will bring 20,000 tonnes of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), while Qiu Chi is set to unload 35,000 tonnes of Motor Spirit (MS).
LPG shipments have also begun arriving. The Singapore-flagged Pyxis Pioneer berthed on Sunday morning after sailing from Port of Nederland, Texas, on February 14. It is currently unloading 16,714 tonnes of LPG for Aegis Logistics Limited and is scheduled to depart on Monday.
Further arrivals are lined up through the week. The vessel Blage is expected on Tuesday carrying 30,600 tonnes of Motor Spirit and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) for Nayara Energy. Another LPG carrier, Apollo Ocean, is due on Wednesday with supplies for Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, as per NMPA’s daily vessel schedule.
