Mangaluru, June 12: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay received a warm welcome at Mangaluru International Airport on Thursday as he arrived en route to the Mookambika Temple in Kollur.
Health and Family Welfare Minister U.T. Khader was among those present to receive the cinema star-turned-politician. Fans were also excited to catch a glimpse of Mr Vijay at the airport.
Meanwhile, the Udupi district police have made elaborate security arrangements for the Chief Minister’s temple visit.
Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar said the district police would handle the entire bandobast. In addition, around 40 personnel from the Tamil Nadu Police, including a DIG and an SP, will be part of the close protection team and security coordination arrangements for the Chief Minister.
As CM Vijay is a Z+ protectee, all prescribed security measures, including convoy security protocols, will be implemented during the visit. Officials said the Chief Minister has no scheduled public meetings or interactions during his stay. Necessary precautions have been taken, and security rehearsals have already been conducted to ensure a smooth and secure visit.
Meanwhile, devotees have been requested to avoid visiting the temple for darshan between 12 pm and 5 pm to prevent inconvenience.
