The United Arab Emirates said its air defence systems successfully intercepted a new wave of Iranian missiles launched toward the country, preventing direct impact and limiting damage.

In a statement, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that the missiles were aimed at U.S. military bases across the Middle East, including installations in the UAE, as part of Iran’s retaliation against strikes by the United States and Israel. The escalation has brought the conflict into a region that has long projected itself as a zone of relative stability and safety.

The ministry stated that the armed forces dealt with the incoming missiles “with high efficiency” and remain fully prepared to confront any threats. It stressed that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors is a top priority and would not be compromised under any circumstances.

However, debris from intercepted missiles fell across several areas of Abu Dhabi, including Saadiyat Island, Khalifa City, Bani Yas, Mohammed bin Zayed City, and Al Falah.

Tragically, falling debris claimed the life of an expatriate worker from Pakistan. UAE authorities expressed condolences to the victim’s family and relatives and held Iran responsible for the incident.

The Ministry of Defence described the missile launch as a “flagrant violation” of the UAE’s sovereignty and international law, adding that the country reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect its territory and people while preserving national security and stability.

Authorities also urged the public to rely only on official sources for updates and to refrain from spreading rumours or unverified information.
