Riyadh: The Gulbarga Welfare Society (GWS) successfully organized a vibrant family get-together at Qasr Isteraha Banquet Hall, bringing together a large number of Gulbarga residents along with their families and children in a warm and engaging atmosphere.
Pravasi Bharatiya Samman awardee and prominent social worker, Dr. Syed Anwar Khursheed, attended the event as Chief Guest, while GWS President Mr. Mukhtarullah Zanjani Jagirdar presided over the program.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Khursheed lauded the efforts of the Gulbarga Welfare Society, particularly its commitment to supporting underprivileged communities from Gulbarga both in Saudi Arabia and India. He remarked that living and working in Saudi Arabia is a privilege, and emphasized the responsibility of expatriates to respect local values, contribute positively to society, and uphold their cultural identity with dignity.
Society Advisor Mr. Syed Nasir Khursheed praised the dedication of the Riyadh chapter and encouraged members to extend their support so the organization can reach a wider section of people in need. He also acknowledged the contributions of the founders, the India team, and various chapters operating across the Kingdom.
In his presidential address, Mr. Mukhtarullah Jagirdar highlighted that the society’s mission goes beyond charity, focusing on fostering unity, brotherhood, and mutual cooperation within the community. He described the gathering as a reflection of collective commitment to strengthening community bonds.
Vice President Mr. Tameem Ul Hassan delivered a detailed presentation on the society’s journey since its inception. He reiterated that GWS serves people in need irrespective of caste, creed, or religion, and showcased its key initiatives, achievements, and future plans, which received enthusiastic appreciation from the audience.
As a mark of respect, a memento was presented to Chief Guest Dr. Syed Anwar Khursheed. Executive committee members of the Riyadh chapter were also honoured for their dedicated service.
Special recognition was extended to sponsors and supporters. A memento was presented to Golden Sponsor Mr. Abdul Majeed Bathruddin, CEO and Managing Director of UIC Saudi Arabia, received on his behalf by Mr. Hyder Ali, Branch Manager, UIC Riyadh. Engr. Abdul Ghani Khan, Managing Director of Arab Innovative International Association Company, was also honoured for his support.
Additional mementoes were presented to Mr. Shafat Farouqui of Almarai and Mr. Ahmadullah Abdul Hadi of Giordano, the latter received by Mr. Abdul Saleem, Area Sales Manager, Riyadh.
During the event, new members were inducted into the executive committee, including Mr. Syed Rehan Syed Bare, Mr. Syed Zubair, Mr. Moizuddin, Mr. Shakir Allatte, and Mr. Mohammed Shoheb Chowdhary.
A Women’s Wing was also launched, with Mrs. Mukhtarullah Jagirdar appointed as Lady Coordinator. The team includes Mrs. Tameemul Hassan, Mrs. Mohammed Hisamuddin, Mrs. Mohammed Azharuddin, Mrs. Dr. Khaja Moinuddin, Mrs. Syed Rehan Barey, and Mrs. Syed Rizwan Nasir.
Adding energy to the gathering, the team organized sports activities, a quiz, and a drawing competition for children, with enthusiastic participation. Families of executive committee members also pledged their support for the growth of the initiative.
An engaging Islamic quiz conducted by Mr. Mohammed Adil saw active participation, with Engr. Abdullah Moizuddin emerging as the winner.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Master Sulaiman Rizwan, followed by a welcome address by Chief Coordinator Dr. Khaja Moinuddin, who greeted the Chief Guest, sponsors, and attendees.
Children’s activities were coordinated by Dr. Khaja Moinuddin, Mr. Rizwan Syed Bare, and Mr. Tameem Ul Hassan, adding vibrancy to the event. Gifts were distributed to all winners and participants.
PR Coordinator Mr. Mohammed Hisamuddin ensured a warm reception for guests, sponsors, and dignitaries.
The event was skillfully hosted by Mr. Mohammed Azharuddin, whose eloquence and inclusion of Urdu poetry added charm to the proceedings.
Treasurer Mr. Abu Arif Shazli delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, sponsors, attendees, and all contributors.
The program concluded with a gala dinner, leaving attendees with a sense of warmth, unity, and renewed commitment to community service.
