A three-year-old boy tragically drowned after falling into an artificial water pool at a private studio in Bengaluru on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2.30 pm at The Shire Studio in Giddenahalli, near Madanayakanahalli. The child, Lakshmeer, was the son of Charan Raj and Swathi.

According to police, a photoshoot was underway at the studio when the toddler, who was playing nearby, accidentally slipped into a small artificial pond created as part of the set. Those present reportedly did not notice the fall immediately.

It was only after nearly 15 minutes, when the child could not be found, that his mother began searching for him. Within minutes, he was discovered inside the water feature. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Preliminary reports suggest that Swathi, who is eight months pregnant, was attending a maternity photoshoot. Another account indicates she may have been present for a friend’s shoot. Police are verifying the details.

Charan Raj, a software engineer, is currently in the United States on an official assignment. Police said Swathi remains in deep shock following the incident, and further procedures will continue after her husband returns.

The Madanayakanahalli police have registered a case of Unnatural Death Report (UDR) based on a complaint filed by Swathi’s father, Ramesh Babu, and have initiated an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
