The Gulbarga Welfare Society organised a Teachers’ Job Fair at Kabab Corner Banquet Hall in Gulbarga, bringing together educational institutions and aspiring teachers on a common platform. More than 20 schools from Gulbarga, Afzalpur, Yadgir, Sedam and nearby areas participated in the event, while nearly 200 teachers attended in search of employment opportunities.
Addressing the gathering, Abdul Haseeb Nouman, president of the society, said the initiative was launched to connect schools in need of qualified teachers with job-seeking educators. Quoting the phrase “Need is the mother of innovation,” he appreciated the enthusiasm and confidence displayed by candidates during the interview process and conveyed his best wishes to all participants.
He announced that GWS plans to organise similar job fairs annually for schools and colleges. Highlighting the organisation’s activities, he said the society has been working for the upliftment of needy people irrespective of caste, creed and religion. He added that the organisation is also committed to supporting professionals through employment opportunities, training programmes and skill development initiatives.
According to him, GWS has so far provided free Kannada-speaking training to nearly 200 people unfamiliar with the language and has also conducted basic computer courses for fresh graduates to improve their employability.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Rafeeq, treasurer of GWS and proprietor of Asra Public School, said such job fairs benefit both schools and job seekers. Stressing the importance of teacher training, he said quality education depends on well-trained educators. He also underlined the role of parents in ensuring regular attendance of children and closely monitoring their academic progress.
Zameer Ahmed, chairman and founder of Innovative Group of Institutions, appreciated the efforts of the organisers and said the event offered institutions an excellent opportunity to interact with talented candidates from various academic disciplines. He congratulated the organisers for the arrangements and thanked GWS for conducting a meaningful initiative.
Shaikh Chand Pasha, principal of MMS School, described the event as well organised and said it received an excellent response from participating schools. He added that such job fairs are the need of the hour.
Mashak Sanadi, representative of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam English Medium School, thanked the organisers for inviting their institution and said such initiatives send a positive message to fresh graduates and teachers.
Mufti Mukhtar, principal of ABC School, said the job fair addressed an important need by enabling teachers to attend interviews and selection processes at one venue. He termed the initiative highly commendable.
General Secretary Waseem Alandi welcomed the school managements, teachers and distinguished guests. Vice President Khalid Afzal Jagirdar delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all participating schools, guests and candidates. He especially thanked President Abdul Haseeb Nouman for leading the successful organisation of the programme and appreciated Treasurer Mohammed Rafeeq for conceptualising the idea of the job fair.
