Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) is set to expand its flight network under the upcoming winter schedule, increasing weekly flight movements from 181 to 195 with a net addition of 14 services.
The expanded schedule will strengthen domestic connectivity and boost international links with the Gulf, catering to travel demand from coastal Karnataka and neighbouring districts.
On the domestic front, Fly91 will introduce two daily routes connecting Mangaluru with Agatti and Pune. The two routes will together add 14 weekly services to the airport’s network.
Air India Express will operate three weekly flights to Hyderabad using Boeing 737-8 aircraft. IndiGo will increase frequencies on the Mumbai route, while Air India Express will enhance connectivity to Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
International connectivity will also receive a boost, particularly across the Gulf sector, which remains an important travel corridor for residents of coastal Karnataka.
Air India Express will resume services to Kuwait and introduce Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates as a new destination from Mangaluru. The airline will also increase flight frequencies to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Dubai.
With these additions, Air India Express’s international departures from Mangaluru are expected to rise from 34 to 45 per week. Overall international departures across airlines will increase from 48 to 59 weekly services.
The expanded network is expected to further strengthen Mangaluru International Airport’s role as a key gateway connecting coastal Karnataka with destinations in the Middle East.
Existing services to Dammam, Doha, Jeddah, Muscat, Abu Dhabi and Dubai will continue during the winter schedule.
