Mangaluru-based entrepreneur and hotelier K Prakash Shetty, founder and chairman of MRG Group, has acquired a 14-seater Embraer Legacy 650 business jet, marking a significant milestone in his entrepreneurial journey.

The aircraft, purchased from the United States, arrived at Mangaluru International Airport on Friday and was welcomed with traditional rituals and a special pooja ceremony. Sri Sri Subudhendra Teertha Swami of Mantralaya presided over the ceremony, which was attended by family members, close associates and well-wishers.

Shetty, who hails from the coastal region, has built MRG Group into a diversified business enterprise with interests in hospitality, real estate and infrastructure. Over the years, he has emerged as one of the region’s prominent businessmen and is also known for his philanthropic initiatives.

The Embraer Legacy 650 is a long-range business jet known for its spacious cabin and premium amenities. The addition of the aircraft is expected to enhance connectivity for Shetty’s business interests while also symbolising the growth of an entrepreneur whose roots remain firmly linked to coastal Karnataka.
